US lithium refiner Stardust signs non-binding supply deal with batterymaker Charge CCCV
US-based lithium refiner Stardust Power said on Wednesday it signed a non-binding letter of intent with fellow US-based batterymaker Charge CCCV to supply battery-grade material from its planned lithium refinery in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Stardust expects to sell 3 000 tons of lithium carbonate in 2028, 10 000 tons in 2029 and 20 000 tons in 2030 to the battery technology company.
The deal comes as the US races to secure domestic sources of lithium, a critical component for electric vehicle batteries, amid growing concerns over reliance on imports from China and other countries.
Stardust in 2025 had revealed it had entered into a non-binding arrangement with Sumitomo Corporation of Americas to sell up to 25 000 tons of lithium annually for ten years, with a possible five-year extension.
The refiner said the agreements, if finalized, could cover a large share of its planned lithium production and could generate billions of dollars in sales if lithium prices remain at current levels.
