JOHANNESBURG (mingweekly.com) - Sierra Leone-focused exploration company Sula has appointed Roger Murphy CEO, and Iain Macpherson nonexecutive director, effective immediately.

They are both representatives of Madini Occidental, a private company that is 75%-owned by Madini Minerals, and which, earlier this month, acquired a 26.16% stake in Sula.

Sula's founder and former CEO Nick Warrell has taken up the position of  COO.

Murphy was until recently the Dundee Securities Europe investment banking MD.

"I am delighted to join the board of Sula and am very much looking forward to developing the very exciting Ferensola gold project in Sierra Leone,” he noted.

He is currently nonexecutive director of Aim-listed Sunrise Resources.

Macpherson is an experienced mining executive and investor with extensive operational, project management and project development experience globally, and in West Africa in particular.

He founded Madini in 2014 and, prior to this, served as ASX-listed Elemental Minerals’ MD. Between 2006 and 2008, he also served as UraMin COO and subsequently MD.
