Sovereign director steps down
Rutile and graphite miner Sovereign Metals, which is developing the Kasiya project, in Malawi, has announced the resignation of nonexecutive director and former MD Dr Julian Stephens.
Stephens was MD of the company from June 2016 to October 2023. During that time, he was instrumental in the company's growth and development. He first identified rutile mineralisation in Malawi and subsequently led the team that discovered Sovereign's world-class Kasiya deposit, progressing the project through its scoping and prefeasibility study stages.
Upon his transition from MD to nonexecutive director in October 2023, Stephens continued to support the company and its technical and management teams.
Following his resignation as a nonexecutive director, Stephens will continue to provide consulting services to the company.
Sovereign has expressed its sincere gratitude to Stephens for his longstanding and significant contribution to the company for more than a decade and looks forward to his continued involvement with the company in his consulting capacity.
