PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Pure Hydrogen has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with renewable energy company Wildfire Energy for a waste-to-hydrogen distribution hub.

Under the terms of the MoU, Pure Hydrogen would supply hydrogen to customers generated from commercial waste, using Wildfire’s proprietary Moving Injection Horizontal Gasification (MIHG) technology.

The technology converts waste into hydrogen by loading waste into the MIHG reactor with raw syngas, which is conditioned to remove chars, sulphurs and other contaminants for hydrogen to be separated and purified for end-use.

Wildfire will deliver its plant south of Brisbane, and will target hydrogen production of 1 500 kg/d, which Pure Hydrogen will resell to end-users through its planned network of hydrogen hubs.

“We are excited to work with Wildfire Energy as they use their unique new technology which will broaden the scope of our hydrogen-producing operations,” said Pure Hydrogen MD Scott Brown.

“It is further evidence of the strong momentum occurring in the business and the scale of the operations that we are assembling. Partnering with established and proven technology partners is a key plank in our growth initiatives and illustrates that we have the necessary technology, infrastructure and skills to deliver clean, green hydrogen fuel to industry and consumers in relatively short order.”

The MoU is subject to conditions precedent, including due diligence and a demonstration of the technology, as well as the execution of formal commercial agreements.
