Positive public-private collaboration must continue to be applied optimally

South Africa’s debt-to-GDP ratio has stabilised, a more competitive electricity market is advancing, and efforts to improve rail and port logistics are progressing.

The National Treasury is on track to deliver its fourth primary surplus, steps are being taken to secure much-needed electricity transmission expansion, and train slots are being allocated as part of a promising exercise to improve logistics.

It is essential that this sort of public-private collaboration be implemented wherever it is found to be the best method of removing obstacles in the way of economic growth and jobs, including at municipal level.
