Mining services group Perenti has announced the resignation of Rob Cole from the board of directors, which he has chaired since 2021.

The company also announced the appointment of Diane Smith-Gander as his successor.

Cole joined the Perenti board in 2018, just prior to the Barminco acquisition. Since that time, the company has more than tripled its revenue and doubled the number of people it employed while building a diverse and successful global mining services business.

“After three terms as a nonexecutive director and three years as chair, I believe it is the right time to pursue different challenges,” he said in a statement.

MD and CEO Mark Norwell commented that Cole is one of Western Australia’s most respected board members. “On behalf of the board and the executive committee, we would like to thank Rob for his many years of service and positive impact that he has had over these last six years.”

Meanwhile, commenting on Smith-Gander’s appointment, Norwell said that she was an experienced chairperson through her time at DDH1 and other companies.

Perenti acquired DDH1 in October last year.
