ASX-listed mining services provider Perenti's underground mining business Barminco has secured a contract to provide underground mining services for Barrick Mining Corporation at the Fourmile project, in Nevada.

The A$275-million contract will span 45 months, with work due to start in July.

Fourmile, which is wholly owned by Barrick, is located adjacent to the Goldrush project where Barminco already operates for Nevada Gold Mines - which is a joint venture between Barrick with a 61.5% stake and Newmont Corporation with a 38.5% stake.

Barminco will start development of Fourmile's twin Bullion Hill portals as part of 16 km of planned underground development, while providing ground support, surface facilities and associated mining services.

Perenti MD and CEO Vanessa Torres says securing the underground contract at Fourmile is an exciting development for Perenti's North American team.

"We look forward to expanding our relationship with Barrick through this project. This supports our strategy to expand operations in Tier 1 mining jurisdictions and continues our disciplined growth into the North American market with both Barminco and Swick," she states.

Perenti contract mining president Gabrielle Iwanow adds that the North American market is the largest hard‐rock underground mining market globally, and Fourmile represents another important step in the group's growth strategy.

"We look forward to bringing Barminco’s focus on safety, quality and productivity to Fourmile, and to supporting Barrick as they advance this important project.”
