The successful completion of the operational ramp-up of the Langer Heinrich mine, in Namibia, has contributed to a significant improvement in independent uranium producer Paladin Energy's performance for the financial year ended June 30.

Paladin, which holds a 75% interest in the mine, reported a 71% year-on-year increase in sales volumes to $304.3-million, driven by higher sales of 4.35-million pounds of uranium octoxide (U₃O₈) and an average realised price of $70/lb of U₃O₈.

Langer Heinrich's production increased to 4.82-million pounds of U₃O₈ for the year – at the upper-end of Paladin's guidance range.

The company achieved a gross profit of $52.2-million for the financial year, compared with a gross loss of $26.1-million in the 2025 financial year. Its net loss also substantially decreased to $9.1-million, from a net loss of $76.5-million in the prior financial year.

With the Langer Heinrich mine ramp-up complete, the company is shifting its focus to the Patterson Lake South (PLS) project, in Canada. PLS is an advanced, development-stage project with a low-risk mine plan proposing the development of a high-grade uranium mine and mill.

During the 2026 financial year, Paladin advanced and de-risked the PLS project through various permitting, engineering, stakeholder engagement and exploration milestones.

Subsequent to June 30, Paladin signed an administrative protocol with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, establishing a targeted, nonbinding regulatory pathway aimed at completing hearings for a construction licence application at the end of the 2027 calendar year.

Paladin is planning to provide further details on the future of the project during a September 2 investor day.

Meanwhile, the company has noted that the uranium market remains favourable, as global investment in new nuclear reactors grows.
