TSX-V-listed Northisle Copper and Gold has published an integrated mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its North Island project, in British Columbia, which integrates the Northwest Expo, Red Dog, West Goodspeed and Hushamu deposits.

The MRE contains an indicated resource of 1.2-billion tonnes grading 0.14% copper, 0.22 g/t gold, 79.5 parts per million (ppm) molybdenum and 0.44 ppm rare earths for total contained metal of 10.1-billion copper-equivalent pounds, or 16.2-million gold equivalent ounces.

The MRE also outlines an inferred resource of 260-million tonnes grading 0.12% copper, 0.15 g/t gold, 62 ppm molybdenym, and 0.37 ppm rare earths for total contained metal of 1.5-billion copper-equivalent pounds, or 2.6-million gold-equivalent ounces.

Notably, MRE will be used as the basis of a prefeasibility study (PFS) on the proejct, which remains on track for completion in the first quarter next year.

"With 10.1-billion pounds of copper equivalent or 16.2-million ounces of gold equivalent contained in indicated resources, the 2026 MRE is finally beginning to tell the story of the district-scale potential of the North Island project," says Northisle chairperson Alex Davidson.

Commenting on the work leading up to the integrated MRE, president and CEO Sam Lee says the company added more than 113-million tonnes of indicated resources at the West Goodspeed deposit, including 873-million  copper-equivalent pounds, or 1.2-million gold-equivalent ounces in contained ounces while at Northwest Expo the company successfully converted inferred material, increasing indicated tonnages by 133% and expanded the resource along strike.

At the Red Dog prospect, Northisle increased container copper-equivalent metal in the indicated resource category by 30% and plans to investigate the connection between Red Dog and West Goodspeed with additional drilling this year.

"We also increased our exposure to critical minerals beyond copper, adding 68-million pounds of molybdenum resources. These results, in addition to improved commodity prices, have driven meaningful resource growth and provide a solid foundation for the North Island PFS," Lee states.
