Mike Ralston has resigned as CEO of London-listed Blencowe Resources with immediate effect.

He will, however, continue to support the company on a full-time consultancy basis until his planned retirement at the end of the year, including progressing the ongoing Phase 1 funding process and other key workstreams at the company’s Orom-Cross graphite project, in Uganda.

This will provide continuity and support an orderly handover to a new CEO, Blencowe points out.

The company says it has started a process to identify additional senior executive leadership and is in discussions with a number of potential candidates.

The board will now accelerate this process with a view to appointing a successor in a timely manner.

Ralston’s CEO role was not a board position.

In the interim, operational activities and key development workstreams will continue under the existing senior management team, led by COO Iain Wearing, who already has primary responsibility for the day-to-day advancement of Orom-Cross.

“Orom-Cross continues to advance across funding, engineering, downstream development and commercial workstreams. Iain and the wider management team have been closely involved across these activities and will ensure continuity while we complete the process of appointing a new CEO.

“Mike will continue to work with us on a full-time consultancy basis through to his planned retirement at the end of the year, supporting the Phase 1 funding process and other key workstreams,” Blencowe executive chairperson Cameron Pearce says.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Mike for his considerable contribution to Blencowe and wish him well for his retirement,” he adds.
