The Chilean Environmental Impact Assessment Authority has approved TSX-V-listed Lithium Chile’s Turi exploration drilling programme, paving the way for the rig to be mobilised to the property in the first week of November.

Turi covers 13 000 ha, or about 95% of the Salar de Turi, in the heart of the Chilean side of the lithium triangle.

Lithium Chile has identified a large 63 km2, 200 m to 350 m thick, high-conductivity anomaly starting about 150 m below the surface. Near surface brine samples above the anomaly contain lithium values ranging up to 590 mg/l and moderate to low magnesium to lithium ratios of 7.8.

Lithium Chile says its current Turi drilling programme is flexible and will be results driven.
