US titanium developer IperionX has successfully completed the $3-million acquisition of the Camden critical minerals project, which includes existing infrastructure assets.

The acquisition is highly synergistic with IperionX's adjacent Titan project in Tennessee, which materially consolidates and expands the company's landholding across the Big Sandy critical minerals province.

Decades of historical high-purity silica sand operations have effectively pre-processed the heavy critical mineral fractions at Camden, generating about 70 acres of at-surface high-grade stockpiles uniquely enriched in titanium, zircon and rare earths.

Grab samples from the surface stockpiles have returned total heavy mineral grades of up to 21.5%.

Accessing these at-surface and pre-processed critical minerals provides IperionX with vital starter feedstocks, thereby reducing capital costs required for mining and processing at Camden at Titan.

IperionX confirms that the acquired site provides an established industrial footprint with active grid power, water, natural gas utilities, and heavy-haul rail access. This provides the potential to significantly de-risk development timelines and reduce capital expenditure that is currently included in Titan definitive feasibility study capital cost build up.

Moreover, mineralisation in the McNairy formation at Camden has been proven to be rich in monazite and xenotime - which often contain heavy rare earths dysprosium, terbium and yttrium.

"Camden-Titan is a potential near-term supply source of upstream American-sourced critical minerals, while IperionX's downstream mineral and titanium technologies, including the Virginia titanium manufacturing platform, provide the pathway to finished US titanium metal products," says IperonX CEO Taso Arima.

The company plans to engage US government stakeholders, downstream processors and strategic customers as further technical and economic data on Camden is advanced. IperionX is advancing an accelerated work programme on Camden prioritising sonic drilling of stockpiles, advanced metallurgical testwork and infrastructure optimisation, with an integrated Camden-Titan techno-economic study targeted by the end of the year.
