The trade exhibition is recognised as one of the continent’s most significant platforms for the mining, industrial, electrical and power generation sectors, which is why BMG has a long history of exhibiting at the event.

The company notes that the platform afforded by EMA 2026 will help BMG reinforce its “leading role” in Southern Africa’s mining and industrial sectors.

At EMA 2026, BMG will again highlight its position as a complete process solutions provider that allows customers to access quality branded engineering components, technical expertise and support through a single point of supply. This integrated approach is designed to help customers reduce production costs, improve plant efficiencies and ensure reliability across operations.

Wright avers that the company plays a critical role in the region. “We [offer] design and equipment selection services to project houses, supply to [original equipment manufacturers] and offer technical support to our broad customer base. Our long-standing partnerships with leading international manufacturers allow us to deliver the latest technology and customised solutions to meet exact requirements.”

He cites a growing emphasis on safety compliance, energy efficiency and sustainable operation in all the industries that BMG serves. “Our reliability-centred maintenance approach addresses these priorities directly. By supporting longer maintenance intervals, reducing unplanned downtime and extending equipment service life, the BMG team helps customers meet both performance and regulatory requirements.”

The company’s stand will feature the latest products from its key specialist divisions: Bearings, Seals and Gaskets, Power Transmission, Drives and Motors, Materials Handling, Tools and Fasteners, Hydraulics, Filtration, Lubrication and Field Services.

Case in point, BMG will be launching the new Danfoss iC7-Automation variable speed drive (VSD) enclosed range at EMA 2026, marking the local introduction of a drive platform, designed specifically by Danfoss to be intelligent, versatile, future-proof and reliable.

“BMG and Danfoss Drives have enjoyed over a decade of close collaboration since signing a strategic alliance agreement in 2015. This formal partnership arrangement strengthened BMG’s original distribution agreement for Danfoss VSDs and the soft starter range, which has been in place since 2007,” explains BMG key account lead Sean McCree.

“Visitors to the BMG stands will have the opportunity to see new Danfoss iC7-Automation equipment first hand and discuss, in detail, how the product’s design requirements distinguish it.”

As part of this launch, BMG has made a significant investment in local stock, with 400 V IP20 iC7-Automation models available up to 710 kW. The strategic stockholding will enable faster delivery, improved project support and reduced lead times for customers across diverse industrial sectors.

“The introduction of the Danfoss iC7-Automation range forms part of BMG’s ongoing strategy of introducing advanced automation technologies that improve productivity, energy efficiency and operational reliability in Africa. The series has been developed for demanding industrial applications where performance, uptime and ease of integration are essential.”

This new range helps to simplify commissioning, optimise machine performance and provide users with greater operational flexibility throughout the life cycle of their equipment.

“The portfolio will cover the range of frequency converters: 0.37 kw to 710 kW air-cooled system modules; 200 kW to 2 700 kW and free-standing enclosed drives; 200 kW to 1 200 kW (with both six-pulse and AFE variants) in the voltage range 380 V to 500 V. This portfolio will be extended to 525 V to 690 V and higher powers in 380 V to 500 V in coming months.”

A key advantage of the iC7- Automation platform is its ability to adapt easily to changing application requirements. Enhanced fieldbus flexibility enables rapid switching between industrial communication protocols without requiring additional hardware, helping system designers to standardise equipment, while simplifying upgrades and reducing engineering complexity.

The range also incorporates advanced diagnostic and monitoring capabilities that assist maintenance teams in identifying potential issues before they develop into costly failures. Improved backup and restore functionality, together with enhanced software tools, streamlines commissioning and maintenance procedures, reducing downtime and improving service efficiency.

The Danfoss iC7-Automation drives are designed for compatibility with a range of motor technologies and provide users with greater freedom when specifying equipment for new installations or modernisation projects. Scalable architecture also allows the platform to accommodate future expansion to meet changing production requirements.

BMG states that its electronics division will support customers throughout the selection, installation and operation of the new drive range with specialist application engineering, technical advice and after-sales service. This includes the roll-out of Danfoss Drives DrivePro 360Live, which is the digital asset management platform for Danfoss Drives.

Wright notes that BMG, by specifying the correct components and systems across all industries and applications, enables operators to enhance performance, increase reliability and extend service life, which, in turn, results in benefits pertaining to productivity and cost management.

Its services extend beyond the mining and quarrying industries, as the team also works closely with customers in agriculture, food and beverage plants, water and wastewater treatment, oil and gas, petrochemicals, construction and general engineering.

Growth opportunities are also being explored and developed in renewable energy and logistics, where BMG is supporting wind and solar projects, as well as providing drive and materials handling solutions to warehousing and distribution facilities. These expansions reflect wider industry shifts towards diversified energy sources and more efficient supply chains, Wright points out.

Meanwhile, on-site support is central to BMG’s service offering. Mobile technicians provide breakdown response and routine maintenance services, conduct troubleshooting and recommend productivity improvements. A 24-hour process support system ensures reliability-centred maintenance strategies to ensure continuous plant operation.
