Originally established as a dedicated representative for encoder system solutions manufacturer Johannes Hübner Giessen in South Africa, HSM specialises in position, speed and control solutions that are engineered to withstand dusty, wet and high-demand applications, facilitating consistent machine uptime.

To that end, one of the solutions HSM staff will discuss at Electra is the FG(HJ) 40-2 series – an incremental encoder for standard drives. The FG(HJ) 40-2 series combines the customary benefits of Hübner devices, such as a long service life and high levels of reliability, with new features that facilitate enhanced flexibility and safety.

HSM, having been appointed a distributor for braking systems manufacturer Dellner Bubenzer in 2015, in turn, followed by partnerships with industrial cabins manufacturer Metagro and cooling technology company FrigorTec, will also be discussing solutions by these renowned brands.

HSM supplies and supports purpose-built mining operator cabins from Metagro. The cabins reportedly provide a safe, comfortable and productive working environment capable of meeting the demands of the mining industry.

Designed and manufactured in the Netherlands, Metagro cabins are “trusted worldwide” for their quality, ergonomic design and durability, and their designs incorporate high-performance air filtration, climate control, vibration isolation and optimised sightlines to create a healthier and more productive workspace.

The cabins are also tailored to the customer’s application, thereby enhancing safety and performance.

Meanwhile, HSM also supplies FrigorTec CRANEFRIGOR industrial air conditioning systems, designed to keep crane cabins, control rooms, electrical enclosures, and operator stations “cool, comfortable, and protected”.

Manufactured in Germany, CRANEFRIGOR units have a “rugged industrial design” and are available in both compact and split-system configurations. The units are designed to operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -25 °C to 85 °C, making them ideal for harsh climates.

Additionally, Dellner Bubenzer manufactures a range of industrial brakes and brake-related products like stormbrakes (rail clamps and rail brakes, wheel brakes), monitoring systems, couplings, brake discs, hydraulic power units and safety systems to protect the steel structure of the machine against overload and snags. HSM staff will be able to discuss these and other solutions at Electra Mining.
