Global power generation specialist HIMOINSA is strengthening its position as a turnkey power solutions provider to the mining and broader industrial sectors across Southern and East Africa, combining international manufacturing expertise with local technical capability and after-sales support.

HIMOINSA operations head Dean Schmelzer and critical application sales manager David Liao spoke to Engineering News & Mining Weekly during the Electra Mining Africa event, held in Johannesburg from September 7 to 11, 2026.

Established in 1982 and part of the YANMAR Group since 2015, HIMOINSA has more than four decades of experience in the design, manufacture and supply of power generation equipment.
