The South African Mineral Processing Equipment Cluster (SAMPEC), in partnership with Hatch, will host a dedicated South African Technical Suppliers Day at Hatch’s Greenstone Hill offices on 1 October 2026. 

The engagement forms part of the SAMPEC Proven Partner Series, which creates direct technical connections between South African original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), specialist suppliers, engineering companies and the project houses responsible for designing and delivering mining and mineral processing projects. 

The event will give participating SAMPEC members an opportunity to present their technologies, engineering capabilities and project experience directly to Hatch’s technical and procurement teams. Through focused presentations, discussions and product displays, suppliers will demonstrate how locally developed solutions can contribute to safer, more efficient, sustainable and cost-effective mining projects. 

The purpose extends beyond showcasing individual products. The engagement is designed to improve technical understanding, build trusted relationships and encourage the earlier consideration of South African technologies during project design and specification. 

It also demonstrates the power of clustering. By bringing complementary manufacturers and specialists together around shared opportunities, SAMPEC enables companies to collaborate, exchange knowledge and present a stronger, more integrated value proposition to the market. This collective approach increases visibility, expands capability and helps local suppliers pursue opportunities that may be difficult to access individually. 

South Africa has a deep base of mineral processing knowledge, developed through decades of solving demanding operational challenges. This combination of engineering experience, manufacturing capability and practical mine-site understanding enables local OEMs to develop solutions that are built locally, proven under demanding conditions and ready for markets around the world.
