Broken Hill Mines posts strongest quarterly output yet
ASX-listed Broken Hill Mines (BHM) has delivered record quarterly production from its consolidated Rasp and Pinnacles mines, in New South Wales.
The quarter marked record ore throughput and tonnes processed since June 2020.
In particular, the company delivered its best quarterly silver production since September 2022 and the highest zinc production since March 2025.
In June alone, BHM produced 49 700 oz of silver, 1 075 t of lead metal and 1 380 t of zinc metal.
On a quarterly basis, BHM produced 95 787 oz of silver, 2 376 t of lead and 3 330 t of lead, marking changes of 21.8%, -3.9% and 7% quarter-on-quarter, respectively.
The company says its feed grade enhancement strategy is gaining traction with increasing contributions from the high-grade Main Lode orebody and the recently restarted Pinnacles mine.
BHM confirms there is a clear pathway to unlocking full processing plant capacity of 750 000 t/y.
"Our multi-source ore feed strategy provides a significant competitive advantage, enabling BHM to optimise both grade and throughput. Substantial latent capacity remains in the Rasp processing plant, with previous operators having been unable to fully use the operation owing to limited ore source flexibility," explains BHM.
Looking ahead, the company is planning the progressive expansion of the openpit into the Consols South, Fishers, Rope Shaft and Junction areas, targeting existing high-grade resources and newly expanded mineralisation zones that have been identified with drilling.
BHM also sees strong potential for high-grade underground operations to be developed at Pinnacles. The company is undertaking assessment of this potential to form an additional ore feed for the Rasp processing plant.
