JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Mike Norris has resigned as FD of LSE-listed gold miner and explorer Avocet Mining, effective immediately, to accept a position at another public company.

Former head of finance and company secretary Jim Wynn would take over the role of FD, while retaining his responsibilities as company secretary.

Wynn, a chartered accountant, joined Avocet in November 2008 and was previously employed by Anglo American where he held a number of roles within the finance, business development and strategy departments of Anglo Industrial Minerals.
