African drilling projects are benefiting from using the versatile instruments and products produced by Italy-based drilling instruments designer DAT instruments, says sales manager Domenico Anelina.

He adds that the company’s products can be installed and used on any drilling rig, irrespective of local climatic conditions and the requirements of a project.

“DAT instruments' products are suitable for all kinds of drilling rigs, owing to their completeness and the wide range of accessories with which they can be used.”

Anelina states that these qualities make them ideal for use in multiple applications such as drilling, jet grouting, soil mixing, CFA, TAM grouting, GIN injections, diaphragm walls, hydromills and vibroflotation.

DAT’s equipment is being used on projects in, for example,  South Africa, Libya, Egypt and Morocco.

“Our equipment is suitable for the African mining environment, as it can be used on almost all inaccessible project sites and it is made of resistant materials that enable it to function in harsh climatic conditions.”

Further, the company’s equipment is subjected to testing and simulations at its warehouse and “every single electronic card is subjected to testing, together with the related cables, and spare parts”, he says, noting that all the company’s equipment is ISO 9001:2008-certified.

He adds that DAT instruments drilling equipment is rugged, reliable and accurate, delivers precision and aids quality workmanship.

“In addition, we consult with our clients to ensure that we understand their specific requirements before our technical staff tend to these requirements”.

Anelina says DAT instruments “goes the extra mile” to ensure that its clients receive good after-sales customer care and advice. The company uses platforms, such as its factory workshop, project-site training and real-time Skype videoconferencing, besides others, to maintain contact with clients.

DAT also improves its equipment regularly and provides customers with the best technology available.

“As our dataloggers are located inside our laboratory, our technical staff is always ready to face any new and recurring market challenges by adapting our items and customising them to meet the various needs of our clients,” says Anelina.

He concludes that DAT instruments’ products come either standard or custom-made, which makes them suitable for use at various operations.
