MC Mining

MC Mining is a coal mining company focused on the development and operation of coal assets in South Africa. The company is headquartered in Johannesburg and maintains a dual listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange. MC Mining's portfolio includes both thermal coal and coking coal projects, positioning it to serve domestic and export markets. The company's flagship operating asset is the Uitkomst Colliery in KwaZulu-Natal, which produces coking coal and thermal coal for industrial customers. MC Mining is also advancing the Makhado coking coal project in Limpopo, a hard coking coal deposit intended for the export market. The company previously held the Vele colliery, also in Limpopo, which has been the subject of various development and ownership arrangements. MC Mining targets niche markets where quality specifications and logistics provide competitive advantages. The company was formerly known as Coal of Africa Limited before rebranding to MC Mining in 2018 to reflect its broader strategic focus. MC Mining continues to navigate the challenges of capital allocation, project financing and market volatility in the South African coal sector.
