Future Minerals Forum

The Future Minerals Forum is an annual international conference focused on the global minerals and mining sector, with particular emphasis on critical minerals essential for energy transition and advanced technologies. Established by Saudi Arabia, the forum is held in Riyadh and serves as a platform for governments, mining companies, investors and industry stakeholders to discuss investment opportunities, technological innovation and sustainable mining practices. The forum aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 economic diversification strategy, which seeks to develop the kingdom's substantial untapped mineral resources estimated to be worth trillions of dollars. The event addresses the growing global demand for critical minerals such as lithium, cobalt, rare earths, copper and nickel, which are essential for electric vehicles, renewable energy systems and digital technologies. The Future Minerals Forum facilitates partnerships between resource-rich countries and technology leaders, promoting investment in exploration, mining infrastructure and mineral processing. The forum also emphasises environmental, social and governance standards in mining, reflecting the industry's shift towards sustainable resource development. By convening ministers, chief executives and technical experts, the forum aims to shape policy frameworks and commercial agreements that secure supply chains for the energy transition. The event has become a significant fixture in the global mining calendar, reflecting the Middle East's emerging role in the minerals sector.
