ZWCAD Design, an innovative supplier of CAD solutions for the MCAD and AEC industries, are delighted to share an expert review of the innovative annotation feature, SmartVoice, and the online workflow that ZWCAD+ 2014 offers. These two features, accompanied by dozens of other innovative tools, lead to a whole new way for designers to work and communicate, improving efficiency, saving both time and money.

Note Taking with Simplicity through Vocal Annotation
Daniel Dobrzynski, an AutoCAD expert with over 27 years of experience, recently reviewed ZWCAD+ 2014 and was particularly impressed with SmartVoice, a new feature allowing users to make vocal notes and annotations, and the benefits that it could bring to designers. Daniel suggests that “sometimes it is more effective and straightforward to express technical problems verbally, instead of putting them in writing.” This idea is what led ZWCAD Design to develop a tool that would allow designers to easily and efficiently place vocal notes within their designs, and share them with collaborators and clients.

Daniel also noted that one of SmartVoice’s highlights is its “simplicity in use.” With one-click record, designers can easily and quickly note any idea that comes to mind, whether this is in the office on a PC, or onsite with ZWCAD Touch on an iOS or Android mobile device. Within ZWCAD+ 2014, users can chose to show or hide all voice annotations, while a manager dialog box gives greater control over all audio notes, allowing users to organize drawings better than ever before.

Share Drawings with a Single Click
The newly improved online workflow was also a feature that Daniel Dobrzynski singled out for praise. He states that “for companies and group of users, it is very important to work together and work with synchronized files.” Working with unsynchronized files can become confusing and time consuming if constantly updating drawings are shared among a large group via email, with uncertainty over which is the most updated file, and who should have access to it. The Online Module for file sharing that exists within the UI “allows users to save drawings and customized configurations to 3rd party cloud services, like Dropbox and Skydrive,” and eases communication between large and small groups alike.

View Drawings without CAD Software or Expertise
ZWCAD Touch is, again, recommended by Daniel Dobrzynski as a way of fully appreciating the new tools. With this mobile CAD app for iOS and Android devices, users can “check designs at all times and in any place.” It also allows users to use the online workflow to share drawings with collaborators and clients who may not have access to CAD software, or lack the expertise to use it.

Daniel Dobrzynski concludes by suggesting that “should a reduction in the processing time of drawings be important, then SmartVoice and the online workflow that ZWCAD+ 2014 offers will be a great contribution.” Time is a designer’s most valuable commodity, and anything that can save time is hugely important to a business. The features in ZWCAD+ 2014 allow designers to save time, whilst also improving communication, and maintaining the same high quality drawing environment that is ZWCAD+ is founded on.
