Zarya has total diamond resources of about 3.5-million carats worth more than $1-billion.
The project will replace the reserves of the soon-to-be-depleted Konsomolskaya pipe and will have a design capacity of 1.25-million tons of ore a year.
The development of the field is planned to a depth of 300 m with the extraction of 12-million tons of ore.
