Xylem South Africa, a leading provider of water and liquid management solutions, has appointed Jehiel E Lawrence as its new Sales Director for Southern Africa. Lawrence is well-known in the chemical distribution sector, where among many responsibilities he provided treatment solutions for the water sector. He now brings his 18 years of expertise to Xylem’s respected range of services and solutions for water and wastewater across the water lifecycle.
“Xylem Water Solutions and its corporate vision of ‘Lets Solve Water’ is what really attracted me to the position. This role not only provides me with the ability to contribute positively to the business, but also to contribute to the wellness of the planet at large.”
As Xylem’s Sales Director for Southern Africa, Lawrence is accountable to drive sales within the region. He also identifies new opportunities in areas where Xylem’s current presence has not yet had a significant impact from a market share perspective. Beyond this, he also helps identify partners and grow Xylem’s value proposition and vision: maintaining a scarce and valuable resource to society at large, namely water.
“I do believe that there are opportunities to share the value we bring to managing water sources with our partners and customers, and the lasting impact this will have.”
Lawrence delivers a wealth of experience and insight through his role having successfully held numerous directorships and senior management positions in his career. He has built and led numerous teams across different geographies and cultures, and his core competencies cover the gamut of important business, staff and customer management skills. Lawrence qualified with Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degrees from the University of the Western Cape and completed an Executive Development Program from the University of Stellenbosch.
“I look forward to contributing to the vision and strategy of Xylem whilst empowering people to grow and deliver on both the business and their own deliverables.”
Xylem is elated that Lawrence has joined its team, said Vincent Chirouze, MD at Xylem South Africa:
“The challenges around water require the brightest minds and strong experience to develop solutions and new ideas. It’s about harnessing existing partnerships and building new ones, driving unique solutions for Africa. This is what Xylem stands for and works toward every day. So, it’s a huge gain for us to have Jehiel join our team. He will help Xylem make even greater contributions to the wellbeing of customers, communities and the planet.”
