PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Project house WorleyParsons has been awarded a A$167-million engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract at major ConocoPhillips’ Ekofisk complex, in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.

The Ekofisk complex is the main production hub for the Greater Ekofisk area, which is made up of four producing fields: Ekofisk, Eldfisk, Tor and Embia, and serves as the centre for sending oil and natural gas liquids to markets in the UK and Germany.

ConocoPhillips was currently looking at increasing the capacity at the Ekofisk complex, after the Norwegian Parliament approved plans for the development and operations of two new projects, Ekofisk South and Eldfisk II.
