PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Australian energy major Woodside has reported a 23% increase in production for the second quarter ended June, as the Pluto liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant delivered its first full half-year of production.

For the three months under review, Woodside produced some 20-million barrels of oil equivalent, and achieved sales revenue of more than $1.34-billion.

Production volumes for the quarter were down by 8.6% compared with the previous quarter, and by 0.6% on the previous corresponding quarter, owing to planned maintenance at the Pluto LGN operation and the North West Shelf operations, coupled with an unplanned outage at Pluto.

Production has since resumed at Pluto.

The miner noted that sales revenue for the period was down 6% on the previous corresponding period, owing to lower oil volumes from the Vincent oil field, in Western Australia, as the operation underwent shipyard maintenance.

Owing to the unplanned outages at Pluto, Woodside had now revised its production target for the full year to between 85-million and 89-million barrels of oil equivalent, as opposed to the previous guidance of between 88-million and 94-million barrels of oil equivalent.
