…Global engineering firm is the latest blue-chip company to call Waterfall home…

Waterfall City continues to attract high calibre clients, with Wood, one of the world’s leading consulting and engineering companies, the latest in a long line of global brands moving to Gauteng’s fast‐growing business hub, developed by Attacq.

Operating across the fields of energy and the built environment, with over 40 000 employees in over 60 countries worldwide, Wood specialises in sustainable infrastructure, energy transition, digital systems and technology. Core to the firm’s operating philosophy is a commitment to helping their clients unlock sustainable solutions to the world’s most critical challenges.

Mark Basson, Manager Commercial at Wood, says: “As a business that specialises in helping our clients achieve their energy transition and sustainability goals, it was essential to us that we partnered with a brand that shared our commitment to creating a safer and more sustainable world. Waterfall’s vast offering of A‐grade buildings, best in class urban design and emphasis on creating safe, smart and sustainable spaces aligned perfectly with this strategic focus.”

Wood will be moving into Waterfall’s Corporate Campus, a secure 35 000m² office park located on the corner of Waterfall and Letaba Drives. As with all Waterfall developments, Corporate Campus prioritises sustainability and green design, incorporating elements such as a state‐of‐the‐art water and irrigation system, innovative Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) condensers, pedestrian walkways, and shaded canted roofs.

Basson adds: “In our search for a location that aligned with and complimented our brand and sustainability objectives, as well as meeting the work-life balance needs of our employees, Waterfall’s strategic placement between Johannesburg and Pretoria, access to public transport and array of world-class amenities made it the ideal choice.”

Corporate Campus is close to the Mall of Africa, Waterfall City Netcare Hospital, Curro Waterfall school, several A‐grade office developments, and various residential developments. The office park comprises seven buildings of around 5 500m² each and provides a collection of shared communal facilities such as conference halls, restaurants, and green spaces.

Wood’s interior design firm, Interiors for Change, helped craft an innovative space that has longevity and is tailored to Wood’s specific needs. The design enables those working from the office to move between silent and social spaces with relative ease, empowering employees to work in areas that best optimise their productivity.

“With the new ways of working, it was important that our new home be optimised for hybrid working. We needed quiet areas, collaborative areas, and teamwork areas to complement our hybrid working philosophy. Corporate Campus offered exactly that – the flexibility to customise spaces to our individual needs,” concludes Basson.

Wood joins a long list of prominent companies that already call the safe, smart and sustainable Corporate Campus home, including global consulting firm Accenture, international pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, the African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (AEMFC), and data, digital and performance intelligence businesses Decision Inc, Dimension Data, and Astute Financial Services Exchange.
