JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed Wescoal on Monday said it expected an uptick in its earnings for the six months ended September 30.

The group, which planned to release its interim results on November 4, expected to report earnings of between 35c and 38c a share, up from 6.8c a share achieved in the comparative period the year before.

Headline earnings a share (Heps), which were adjusted for an aftertax profit of R58.6-million on the sale of the Vlaklaagte prospecting right, would reach between 10c and 12c a share during the interim period under review, compared with Heps of 6.9c recorded in the six months ended September 2012.
