Project Description
The proposed project involves the development of a fully integrated, world-class phosphate production facility in the King Abdullah Project for Development of the North.

The new complex will be one of the largest integrated phosphate facilities in the world and will include seven world-class plants and associated facilities.

It will almost double Ma’aden’s existing phosphate production, while adding important new products to the company’s production capabilities.

The project will include new mining and processing units at Wa’ad Al Shammal Mineral Industrial City and processing plants at Ras Al Khair Mineral Industrial City.

Value
The project is estimated at $7-billion.

Duration
Production at the new facilities is expected to start in late 2016, with a total production capacity of 16-million tonnes a year.
