JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Viento Group’s joint venture (JV) entity KVG has been awarded a A$5-million road maintenance and miscellaneous works contract for Rio Tinto’s Nammuldi mine expansion project.

The contract would form part of the Nammuldi mine expansion works and would involve access road maintenance grading, irrigation pivot cleaning and road construction.

The Nammuldi expansion will see iron-ore mined below the water table and will increase the mine’s production from 8-million tons a year to 23-million tons a year.

The KVG JV is a cooperative business arrangement between Viento and 100% indigenous-owned Koodaideri, and sets to establish a profitable business venture offering opportunities to the people of the Banjyma region of the Pilbara.
