PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior explorer UraniumSA has announced a maiden exploration target of some 230-million tonnes at its Wigetty titanium/iron/phosphate project.

UraniumSA told shareholders that given the shallow depth of the mineralisation, the significant tonnage and the grade estimates, the prospect would be evaluated as an opencut operation producing ilmenite, magnetite and apatite concentrates.

The company said on Wednesday that it would now work to improve its confidence in the Wigetty prospect, with soil sampling and airborne surveys expected to be completed by the first half of the year.

Further exploration work, which included targeted reverse circulation (RC) drilling, would be delivered over a 12- to 18-month period, while broad-spaced RC and core drilling, assaying and metallurgical studies would be dependent on these results.
