A-OSH EXPO has earned its place as Africa’s leading occupational health and safety exhibition through a carefully orchestrated combination of products, services and educational sessions. The exhibition is not only the largest platform for industry’s leading products and services and a host of visitor attractions, but visitors are afforded an unequalled opportunity to learn about the latest trends in best practice and up to date legislation in two free-to-attend seminar programmes.
Held at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg the exhibition presents the NOSHEBO Seminar Theatre (sponsored again this year by Ansell) and the PASMA Working at Height Theatre from 24 to 26 May 2016.

“A-OSH EXPO affords industry professionals the unique opportunity to interact not only with best of breed exhibitors, but also with knowledgeable industry speakers who have tailored their seminar presentations to address pertinent and pressing needs within the market,” says Joshua Low, A-OSH EXPO Event Director at Specialised Exhibitions. “The PASMA Working at Height Theatre will be conducted by leading industry specialists with collective decades’ of experience. The talks will include live demonstrations of equipment and assembly methods. There will be a variety of topics discussed, including the advantages of using towers, the various training courses available to assemble and use them and the product standards they are certified to. Geared towards anybody who works at height, the seminar provides a wealth of information on safe working practice,” says Low.

At last year’s event, such was the popularity of the NOSEHBO Seminar Theatre sessions sponsored by Ansell that there was often standing room only available. This year, delegates can look forward to talks by Tibor Szana from the Department of Labour on the Occupational Health & Safety Bill, an SABS discussion on standards for PPE, Vince Harmse explaining the client’s agent in construction, and working at height guidelines, all on day one.

On 25 May, the programme kicks off with the investigation of major incidents by the DoL, OHS design to specification by Leighton Bennett of BenRisk Consultants, Duane Basson of HSE discussing hearing protection, with the day ending with a talk on managing OHS and labour on the mines. Day three starts with occupational hygiene, continues with head protection guidelines and a final talk by Joep Joubert (president of IOSM) on a single professional registration authority for occupational safety practitioners.

Now in its sixth year, A-OSH EXPO boasts a number of visitor attractions that make the show experience even more worthwhile. These include the comprehensive Saiosh conference and the Business Matchmaking Service sponsored by Ideco. The latter initiative allows visitors to be pre-matched with relevant exhibitors, whereby meetings are arranged in advance of the exhibition, thereby maximising the visitor’s time at A-OSH EXPO 2016. A-OSH EXPO 2016 enjoys the endorsement of a number of leading industry associations, including the Institute for Working at Height (IWH), IOSM, Nebosh, FPASA, NOSHEBO, PASMA, the Safety First Association, SAIOH, Sapema and Saiosh. A-OSH EXPO will again be co-located with Securex, Africa’s leading source for security and fire products and services. The exhibition covers all aspects of security and fire risk analysis and alleviation and for the first time will include a conference that addresses cyber security.
