Company Announcement - For the 4th year running, the business travel community has voted Tsogo Sun as the ‘Best South African Hotel Group’. Furthermore, Tsogo Sun’s Sandton Convention Centre has received the coveted best ‘Large Conference Venue’ award for the 2nd year.
Hosted by Times Media Events and Business Traveller Africa magazine, the annual Business Traveller Africa Awards are an exclusive tribute recognising winners that have taken extra steps to distinguish themselves through adherence to the highest standards of quality and service. The winners are selected from votes cast by travel buyers, a large number of travel agents, actual business travellers, professional conference organisers, executive assistants, and suppliers in the business travel space. For the winners, this award symbolise excellence, while for travellers they provide assurance of top class quality and exceptional experiences.
”To be recognised, year on year, as the best hotel group in South Africa by the travel industry and our guests is truly a remarkable feat. We have a very clear customer-centric philosophy and are delighted that our efforts and determination are being recognised by the industry and our guests as we strive for excellence. It certainly is a great honour to receive this award”, says Richard Weilers, Chief Operating Officer at Tsogo Sun.
As southern Africa’s premier gaming, hotel and entertainment group, Tsogo Sun’s key differentiator in South Africa is their wide distribution of quality budget through to luxury hotel products. The Group’s portfolio comprises over 90 hotels, offering more than 14 000 hotel rooms across all sectors of the market in South Africa, Africa, the Seychelles and Abu Dhabi. Additionally Tsogo Sun offers 14 premier gaming and entertainment destinations. For business travellers Tsogo Sun offers over 250 conference and banqueting facilities, including the award-winning Sandton Convention Centre.
“There is no greater honour than to be lauded by your peers and guests, and being recognised as the best Large Conference Venue denotes the commitment, determination, passion and resilience of the SCC’s staff and management. The requirements for large national and international events comprise a wide range of specialties and we are certainly humbled to be honoured in such a way” commented Mati Nyazema, Executive Director of the Sandton Convention Centre.
The Sandton Convention Centre is located in Sandton’s business hub in Gauteng, adjacent to a wide range of accommodation, shopping malls, dining and entertainment options. This, together with its easy access to the Gautrain network and OR Tambo International Airport, are factors that make it the ideal venue of choice for large events.
