The project is located at the Richards Bay industrial development zone, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a titanium beneficiation facility for the manufacturing of titanium pigment.

Titanium will be extracted from waste steel and beneficiated to produce titanium dioxide pigment, which is a key component in paint manufacturing, using Evraz Highveld Steel waste slag that was dumped for more than 45 years in the bushveld complex as feedstock.

The project will produce about 50 000 t/y of titanium dioxide pigment, which it will sell locally and export to the rest of Africa and the Middle East.

Jobs to Be Created
About 550 permanent jobs will be created when the plant is operational, while 1 200 indirect and 800 direct jobs will be created during the construction of the plant.
