The ‘greenness’ South Africa can help bestow on the world needs hard sell now

South Africa and the amazing platinum group metals it hosts in such abundance have been cleaning up emissions from vehicle exhaust pipes for decades.

Now they are earmarked to do so in elevated zero-emission fashion in fuel cells and in green hydrogen generation. A leading mining executive I know, who spent the whole of last Friday talking to ‘green’ investors in New York, came away on cloud nine.

The enthusiasm of these investors to sign on the dotted line was high and rose even higher on the news that the platinum group metals from his mine would be produced in the ‘greenest’ way possible. South Africa should be taking advantage of the many major global investors who have been mandated to invest solely in companies that are helping to make the world a ‘greener’ place.

With apologies to Shakespeare, there’s definitely a tide in the affairs of South Africa’s platinum group metals which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. That tide is now.
