Project Description
The Thabazimbi project and Meletse iron-ore deposit have a total Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant iron-ore resource of 80.8-million tons, grading 61.1% iron.
With these resources, the project could support a four-million-ton-a-year direct shipping ore operation for domestic and/or international sales.
It is expected that the resource will have the capacity to produce at least 60% of the product as high-grade lump ore.

An initial, concept-level mine design was completed in the quarter ended June 30, incorporating the updated resource of 80.8-million tons, grading 61.1% iron.
The updated mine design has been incorporated into the mining right application, which is expected to be lodged with the Department of Mineral Resources in due course.
Meanwhile, a project-wide review of iron-ore exploration targets started in the June quarter to prioritise work programmes for the 2014 financial year.
