Talesun Posts Positive Year-End Results For 2013
Talesun Energy, a leading international manufacturer of high quality solar modules and cells, last week announced positive year-end results for 2013. Following on from a profitable 2012, these positive results are in part due to the company’s successful targeted expansion into key markets. As part of its strategy this year, the company has adopted an expansion plan to enter the South African market.
Chien says after the company bucked the 2012 trend by posting profits, 2013 saw an increase of net profits. He says that the company’s strategy has shown itself to be well-placed. “We are now among the top ten photovoltaic project companies in the world. In Europe alone we provided some 250 megawatt of capacity, of which two-thirds is driven by the project business. In addition, it's well known that we place great importance on a fast, high quality service.”
Chien says that South Africa is an example of the unrelenting potential of photovoltaics in the African arena. He says that the success in Europe is a good indication of how South Africa can benefit from solar energy installations, especially as the country receives around 2,500 hours of sunshine each year. For this reason, Talesun Energy is planning an expansion into South Africa.
”There is a growing demand for renewable energy solutions such as photovoltaic solar energy systems in southern Africa, and this is reflected by the various international countries seeing an increase in their photovoltaic exports to South Africa. More South African businesses are also seeking ways to move away from conventional electricity to renewable energy. There is no doubt that this market is ripe for solar renewable growth,” he concludes.
