PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Dual-listed gold miner Endeavour Mining on Tuesday reported that its expanded Tabakoto gold mill, in Mali, had reached its design capacity, with June throughput expected to average 4 000 t/d.

The mill expansion increased the capacity from 2 000 t/d to 4 000 t/d and included the addition of a semiautogenous grinding mill, additional carbon-in-leach tanks, an additional thickner, a new gravity tower, an in-line leach reactor and new gold room.

“We are very pleased to have completed the mill expansion on plan and on budget,” said CEO Neil Woodyer.

“The mill is meeting our expectations, which include increasing our gold production while reducing our unit operating costs. The expanded Tabakoto operation is now producing gold at a rate of 150 000 oz/y,” he added.

Meanwhile, Endeavour noted that the development of a second underground mine at the Segala deposit was proceeding well towards production in 2014.

Endeavour’s yearly gold production for 2014 has been forecast at 450 000 oz, including the Tabakoto mill expansion, and the completion of the Agbaou gold mine, in Cote d’Ivoire.
