Canada-based gold miner Superior Gold has appointed Chris Jordaan, who most recently worked for Australia’s largest gold producer Newcrest, as its president, CEO and director.

Jordaan would lead the Superior Gold team from Perth, Western Australia, said chairperson Mark Wellings on Tuesday.

Superior Gold owns the Plutonic gold operation, in Western Australia.

Prior to his employment at Newcrest, Jordaan was the CEO of LSE-listed chrome miner International Ferro Metals in South Africa.

Jordaan's appointment will take effect on July 1, succeeding interim CEO Tamara Brown, who will remain a director.
