Super Group ranked 13 in Financial Mail Top 20 Companies Awards 2014
Super Group, one of South Africa’s leading transport logistics and mobility groups, has been ranked 13th in the Financial Mail Top 20 Companies Awards 2014.Super Group continues to be the best performer in the listed Transport sector. The Financial Mail noted that, “The new management team has worked wonders. The company is once again properly capitalised and the share price has more than tripled since the turnaround began in late 2010.”
The Group was awarded a score of 52,7. Criteria included corporate governance, empowerment commitment, strength of management, investability (value buy and tradability), industry and company profit prospects.
Peter Mountford, Chief Executive Officer of Super Group, believes that the Group’s earnings growth is commendable given the highly competitive trading environment and strenuous economic conditions experienced by all industries in both South Africa and Australia.
“We are pleased with progress to date and believe that the Group is on the right track to achieve its growth strategy through the expansion of our core businesses. To have been selected on the Financial Mail’s elite list of Top 20 winners is a considerable achievement,” he says.
The Financial Mail’s unique evaluation system identifies not only those companies that have done consistently well for investors but also those likely to continue to deliver outstanding returns. The FM Top 20 is not meant to be a list of blue-chip companies. Rather, it’s an attempt to identify those companies that represent the best investment opportunities.
