PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Strandline Resources has ramped up work on the feasibility study for its Fungoni mineral sands project, in Dar es Salaam, following a 45% increase in the project’s mineral resources.

The mineral resource at Fungoni is now estimated at 16-million tonnes, grading 3.1% heavy minerals, with 60% of the resource classified as measured, and the remaining 40% as indicated.

“Strandline is focused on delivering an optimised and robust feasibility study outcome and positioning the Fungoni project favourably for a seamless transition into the execution phase,” said MD and CEO Luke Graham.

“The company has assembled a highly experienced and motivated team of mineral sands professionals across the various aspects of the study, including recently making several senior in-house appointments to drive the development activities.”

The feasibility study is targeted for completion in the third quarter of this year, along with a positive final investment decision, with the intent being to start production in the second half of 2018.
