TSX-listed  intermediate gold producer Pretium Resources (Pretivm) reports that Patrick Godin has been appointed VP and COO, effective August 1, succeeding operations VP David Prins.

Godin was until last month president, CEO and director of Stornoway Diamond Corporation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from Université Laval in Québec.

Pretivm president and CEO Jacques Perron says Godin’s successful leadership, extensive technical and operational experience working in mines across the world and broad knowledge of the mining business will be instrumental as the company continues to drive Pretivm’s success.

Pretivm announced last month that Prins had resigned and that he would leave the company at the end of August, or a mutually agreed date.

The company owns the Brucejack mine, in north-western British Columbia.
