TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Timmins gold camp-focused St Andrew Goldfields (SAS) reported a strong performance during the fourth quarter of 2012, enabling it to achieve the mid-range level of its 2012 guidance for a total of 95 604 oz of gold.

The company reported record fourth-quarter production of 25 829 oz of gold from its Holt, Holloway and Hislop mines, with Holt ramping up during the year.

SAS CEO Jacques Perron said the company looked forward to receiving the complete results from the initial bulk sample at the Taylor project at the beginning of the second quarter.

The company expected to produce about 100 000 oz of gold this year.

The company’s stock traded down 2% at 49 Canadian cents apiece on the Toronto-bourse on Thursday.
