PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Iron-ore miner Fortescue Metals has awarded contractor SRG Global a A$150-million term contract to provide multi-disciplinary services at its mine, rail and port locations across Western Australia.

The A$150-million contract is a master agreement for maintenance and shutdown services, initially to provide rope access and electrical maintenance required across the Fortescue operations, said SRG on Tuesday.

“We are delighted to be selected as a key partner to Fortescue and to provide critical maintenance and shutdown services across their Pilbara operations for the next five years,” said SRG Global MD David Macgeorge.

“This is another significant step forward in our strategy to build a portfolio of annuity earnings, with quality clients, to deliver long-term sustainable growth.”
