A new on-demand gas water heater designed to deliver reliable hot water while reducing energy consumption and operational costs has been launched by South African water heating solutions provider Kwikot.

Unlike conventional storage heaters that continuously consume energy to maintain water temperature, the Kwikot Sirius gas water heater uses an on-demand heating system that activates only when hot water is required, thereby eliminating standby heat loss.

“South Africans are increasingly looking for smart, future-ready solutions that balance performance with affordability,” says Kwikot MD Murray Crow. “The launch of our latest gas water heater reflects our commitment to delivering technologies that reduce energy demand while supporting long-term sustainability.”

The company’s proprietary GasSaver technology is engineered to optimise gas usage and improve heating efficiency. Combined with intelligent constant-temperature control and a water servo valve, the unit is designed to deliver stable hot water performance across multiple outlets - even during fluctuating demand.

The Sirius series features low-power heating operation, helping minimise overall energy consumption. The system is compatible with solar thermal installations, enabling integration into hybrid energy setups, helping to reduce reliance on grid electricity and lowering environmental impact.

The water heater features a weather-resistant design specifically suited to outdoor installation. Its direct current fan oxygenation technology improves combustion efficiency while supporting safe operation and consistent performance. A dual central processing unit protection mechanism works alongside an intelligent self-check function to ensure dependable operation over time.

User-friendly temperature control settings allow users to customise hot water output for different areas of the home or commercial premises.
