The South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA) has introduced its PrivySeal initiative that provides its members with a digital stamp and certificate indicating that entities adhere to the code of conduct set forth by the institute to reassure the public of trustworthiness.

“Being able to tell who to trust for buyers in the mining industry, especially virtually (digitally), can be a tricky business that’s why SAIA launched the PrivySeal. The digital seal and certificate are used to reflect the entity’s information in real-time. It’s all about promoting people with genuine skills and helping them participate in a trusted global network by making them visible,” Sonja Styger National manager.

Leading academic institutions, industry regulators and associates have been making use of PrivySeal to inform the public of the legitimate dealings of members and their licensing authenticity.

The seal is designed to protect members and the public by establishing deals with Bonafede registrants in good standing with the organization.

“The PrivySeal also motivates members to update contact information regularly and remain compliant. The PrivySeal can automatically be revoked if a member does not adhere to the SAIA code of conduct” Sonja.
