JSE- and NYSE-listed precious metals miner Sibanye-Stillwater has appointed Philippe Boisseau an independent nonexecutive director, effective April 8.

He brings to the board more than 25 years of executive leadership experience, including three years as CEO of Spanish energy business Compañía Española de Petróleos.

Boisseau also has two decades of working experience at TotalEnergies, having headed up the refining and upstream businesses, as well as Total’s business in the Middle East.

He will also serve as a member of Sibanye’s audit and risk, nominations, and safety, environment and sustainability committees.

Boisseau previously had an advisory role with Sibanye to refine the company’s strategic approach to prioritising more metals and energy investments.
