The Sheep Mountain project is a large-scale, formerly producing, conventional uranium mine with the potential to become a long-term uranium production centre in a higher price environment.

According to a 2012 preliminary feasibility study (PFS) on the project, the Sheep Mountain project contains about 12.9-million tons of indicated mineral resources, with an average grade of 0.117% of uranium equivalent (eU3O8) containing an estimated 30.29-million pounds of uranium.

Latest Developments
The US Bureau of Land Management has issued a final environmental-impact statement (EIS) and record of decision (RoD) for Energy Fuels’ Sheep Mountain project. The issuance of the EIS and the RoD, as well as the mine permit in July 2015, is the last major government approval required to start mining at this project.
