Project Description
The project includes the extraction of potassium-bearing brine from the Sevier Playa, targeting production over the 32-year life-of-mine of about 328 500 t.

A series of solar evaporation ponds will be used for the precipitation of potassium-bearing salts, and a processing plant for the production of commercial-grade sulphate of potash.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create an estimated 275 jobs in the region during construction and maintain 175 full-time jobs to operate the many project facilities and structures.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has an after-tax, inflated net present value, at an 8% discount rate, of $730-million and an internal rate of return of 21%.

Capital Expenditure
$412-million to construct is required.

Planned Start/End Date
Upon receipt of funding and completion of detailed engineering, the company will be in a position to begin construction in 2020.

Latest Developments
The US Department of Interior has authorised the construction of the Sevier project.

The record of decision enables Crystal Peak to speed ahead with financing and offtake negotiations. BNP Paribas has been hired to advise on securing debt financing for the project and Crystal Peak is yet to decide on an adviser to assist in obtaining the required equity financing.
