Germany-based polymer processing company STAR will showcase its seamless piping solutions at this year’s West African Mining and Power Exhibition (Wampex) at the Accra International Conference Centre, in Ghana, from May 28 to 30.

STAR develops and produces large-diameter polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) pipe systems of up to 1200 mm in diameter, says STAR sales agent for Ghana Sumaila Ibrahim.

“We know how important it is to use the correct, high-quality fittings for successful mining operations, which is what we will showcase at Wampex, along with our expertise and capabilities. We believe that the West African mining industry is growing and that it presents significant opportunity for STAR to grow in the region. This is why we have established a new sales office and stock holding in Ghana,” says Ibrahim.

“We want to use the opportunity to meet industry players from the mining, power, construction and water industries in the subregion and in Africa. . . so that we can introduce our new innovations and technologies in PE and PP fittings and accessories,” explains Ibrahim.

He adds that, even though STAR has participated in similar global gatherings, this will be the company’s first time at Wampex, which is being held for the eleventh time.

“Events of this magnitude provide us with an excellent opportunity to assess clients’ opinions, determine market potential, conduct research and evaluate competition, and develop commercial structures by identifying new agents, distributors and project partnerships,” he elaborates.

Ibrahim adds that, in addition to its seamless bend pipes, STAR will also exhibit its range of full-pressure spigot and electrofusion fittings, with all dimensions, welding lengths, tolerances and material properties manufactured according to regulations.
